- Guardrail: a daily anti-abuse limit to prevent automation or scripts from exhausting capacity
What counts as an AI action
Current usage accounting is tied to confirmed calendar actions. Examples include creating an event, moving or editing an event, deleting an event, responding to an invitation, creating a booking link, or creating a group invite after you confirm the action.
Audio transcription is not counted separately as an AI action. If the transcript leads to a confirmed calendar action, the normal calendar action accounting still applies.
Audio limits
Audio input has its own guardrails:
- maximum audio size: 10 MB
- maximum duration: 2 minutes when duration metadata is available
- separate audio attempt rate limiting to protect transcription capacity
If an audio request hits one of those limits, type the request instead or send a shorter recording.
What happens at the limit
If you reach a usage limit, Calendaria should show a clear limit/reset message. Calendar commands are not silently downgraded to a lower-quality model.
Why limits are explicit
Calendar tasks are trust-sensitive. Date parsing, ambiguous event resolution, and confirmation summaries need the best available core model path. Calendaria would rather be clear about usage than quietly reduce quality for calendar reads or writes.
Roadmap surfaces
Usage, billing, and preferences belong in the dashboard. The current dashboard already handles sign-in, session state, chat channel linking, web chat access, calendar connections, booking links, and group invites; richer billing and usage views are planned account-surface work.
